A fire outbreak on Saturday gutted the headquarters of Kano Police Command at Bompai, though the police were yet to issue any official statement on the incident as of press time, sources confirmed that the blaze razed offices on the top floor.
No death was reported but documents, furniture, and other important valuables were destroyed. The finance office and the Police Public Relations Officer’s (PPRO) offices were among the offices razed by the inferno.
However, the office of the Commissioner of Police was not affected by the fire, witnesses said. It was gathered it took firefighters over two hours to respond to the distress call, making the blaze spread to many offices.
